After losing out to competitors in military trials, the dozen or so Taniwha-class subs produced for testing were sent to the scrapyard. Thanks to some last-minute palm-greasing, a handful vanished into the Europan depths, resurfacing years later with oodles of hull modifications and refits. Though its experimental railgun setup and purely offensive armament array are probably why it wasn't adopted into service, a skilled crew can still make use of the Taniwha's top-notch mobility. --------- This is the first proper, working sub I've made so far, finally ready to set sail. Abuse it as you please. It's priced at 6000, so it can be used as a starter sub if you so desire. Special thanks to NIR for being my mentor in terms of design philosophy and wiring. Neither this sub nor any other I've made would have been possible without their help. ***IMPORTANT NOTE*** The Taniwha doesn't react well with NPCs. It's best to run this with a crew of Humans.

The captain is the only one allowed to detonate it, via a button next to the shuttle nav terminal. Adds extended compatibility to Vanilla Creature Expanded creatures to make chopping up the local wildlife worth it. NOTE: Base Hungry Europans will spawn 1 offal for all non-vanilla creatures and thus already 'has' compatibility. The Arauto is a fun side project I made some time ago. As my first vessel built, the objective was to build a sub to play a chaotic campaign with all of my homies. Since we already were running a campaign in which we progressed quite a bit, I thought it would be more worthwhile if I made a chonkier sub for us to use, with cool guns and some nice cargo. So, when I decided that I wanted to build a sub, I asked my dad for cool sub ideas, and he suggested I should build the USOS Seaview from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and I thought that was a cool idea. Did my best to replicate the strange visual of the ship, especially its length. The other gimmicks like the strange fins on the front were also weird to model, but I think the results are fine. Has a lot of turrets, both lasers and machine guns. Decent speed and cargo space, but quite difficult to traverse and repair effectively, because it is that huge in terms of horizontal size. Miiight also have some electrical issues depending on what you do with the ship. Some of the rooms include: -Cool captain's cabin, so that they can see the horrors coming to devour the ship whole. -Pub for chlling with the gang. -Strange decayed dorm for imprisoning all the clowns (this room may be hiding a secret of this sub's lore, who knows...) -All of the essentials to keep a sub running and more!
