It makes you respawn near where you died, at a supposedly safe-ish zone. Teleport-to-spawn items like the Magic Mirror, Ice Mirror, Recall Potion, and Potion of Return are no longer functional. You get 2 seconds of invurnerability to damage, debuffs, and lava on spawn. The idea is that the gameplay can more nomadic or something - instead of just dying/teleporting back to home base all the time you should bring your most important items, crafting stations, and house building supplies with you. The challenge of dying is no longer of getting sent far away from your coins, but instead that you must find your way out of the situation you put yourself in. You won't respawn at places where: - Your Y velocity is not 0, - You have the lava debuff or hellstone brick debuff - You are grappling - You have the 2 second grace period of invurnerability - You aren't on a rope A potential softlock of respawning in moving/enlargening lava or respawning deep in the dungeon before beating skeletron has been mitigated by making the place you respawn at be further back each time you die when dying repeatedly - meaning that you will end up in a safe spot that you previously were at after some amount of deaths. But say goodbye to your coins if you put yourself in that kind of situation, so play carefully. Highly recommended to use with the mod Player Location Saving by Garretonzo, as well as another mod that makes npcs move into new homes more promptly if you want. Update: Ripto's scepter now has a new behavior. The shadowflame fireball flies faster and now splits into 6 shadowflame fireballs at the cursor position and will home in on enemies as long as they are in empty space where they have a line of sight with the enemy. The fireballs can go through tiles, but they lose their homing ability when going through tiles and will only fly straight. Get ready to play as Ripto, the fan favorite Spyro villain! This is an unorthodox Spyro mod, but there's more to Spyro mods than just playing as Spyro. Show the orange dinosaur sorcerer some love! Requires MrPlague's Authentic Races mod installed in order to function. Credit goes to MrPlague for his MrPlagueRaces mod. Ripto starts off naked upon creation, but he will have his cape outfit in his inventory. He'll also have a familiar wig to make headgear invisible and a ruby staff as a starter magic weapon. When he's selected from the "female" slot, he'll use another one of his hurt sounds. There's no other differences. Both hurt sounds are from Spyro: Reignited Trilogy. Ripto's weapons are available in hardmode and his outfit is available in pre-hardmode. Go to a Mythril or Orichalcum anvil with 10 gold bars and a large ruby to craft Ripto's Scepter. A crafting station isn't needed for Ripto's Claws and all you need is 10 souls of night. For Ripto's Cape, you can craft it with 5 silk at a loom. Ripto can auto jump when you hold down the spacebar.
