This is a mod I made for my wife. To all of you who thought that mana shouldn't be gained mid-battle, I introduce the removal of those pesky mana stars that fall out of enemies when defeated. Feast your eyes upon the greatness that is no mana stars. They won't drop from ANYTHING... I hope. Don't expect too many updates. This is my first modding project. Modifies the Laser Drill into a scaling QoL tool. When used normally it is a Hammer/Axe, but when Alt-Use(RMB by default) is held down, it is a Drill. Pick power starts at 40% in a new world, scales to 100% in Hardmode, 200% after Mech bosses, and 230% after killing Golem. Reduces the damage to 4. Also adds +3 tool/tile range and activates the Architect Gizmo Pack speed boosts when in the Inventory. Does not activate the Paint Sprayer. Laser Drill not included.

Mana Management Rebalancing

Part of the goal of this mod is to reduce the effectiveness of brain-dead use (continual chugging of mana pots, the mana regen potion always being a good idea) and reward more interesting play (pausing or use of mana pots at strategic times, firing in short bursts, etc). You can see this page on the wiki for an overview on how mana regen works. General - Base maximum and minimum mana regen has been increased to compensate for somewhat nerfed mana potions and mana regen potions and reduce reliance on them: Link to graph From: regenFactor = currentMana/maxMana x 0.8 + 0.2 To: regenFactor = currentMana/maxMana x 1.1 + 0.4 - Maximum and minimum mana regen delay has been decreased to facilitate the use of short bursts: Link to graph From: maxRegenDelay = (1 - currentMana/maxMana) * 168 + 31.5 To: maxRegenDelay = (1 - currentMana/maxMana) * 80 + 10 - These regen and regen delay formulas override Calamity's if it is loaded - The standing still multiplier to mana regen is x1.7 from x2 Mana Star drops - Mana Star drop rate now scales (full-1/2 mana is 20-35%, 1/2-empty is 35-75%) instead of always 54.17% - Mana Stars restore 1/5 of total mana instead of a fixed amount (1/6 if using the Mana Regen Potion, as it reduces the risk of staying low on mana) - Heart drop chances no longer halved when Mana Stars are able to drop (being at less than full mana) Potions Mana Potions (Mana Sickness): From: -5% per sec with 5 sec inflicted each use (-50% max at 10 sec) To: -20% magic damage per sec with 4 sec inflicted each use (-200% max at 10 sec) - Vanilla mana sickness reduces total damage by only 7.8% over the course of eight seconds. This raises that to 20%, but also causes it to fade faster. The hope is to encourage players to time their use of mana potions for when they can spare 2 or so seconds of downtime - Thorium's Out of Touch debuff will last 1 more second after Mana Sickness ends, so its 5 second duration remains the same Mana Regeneration Potion: - No longer treats the player as at max mana for mana regen calculation - Still treats the player as standing still for mana regen calc, but provides x1.4 instead of x1.7 - Still treats the player as standing still for mana regen delay calc - The potion's enforced maximum regen delay is now a fixed sixth of a second and will no longer change based on regen delay bonuses - It is now aimed at situations where the player will have no time to stand still (e.g. most boss fights), but provides limited benefit in other situations (e.g. invasions, some events, exploring) Other Items Magic Cuffs: - Now give more mana depending on difficulty (x1.5 on expert, x2 on master) Star in a Bottle: - Removed mana regen bonus - Increased regen delay factor from +0.5 to +1.5 All Star Cloak accessories: - Increased stars to 4 / 6 expert / 8 master - Lowered base dmg to 60 / 120 expert / 180 master - Base damage rises by 33% post-Plantera (post any late hardmode boss if Nonlinear Hardmode is loaded) and 66% instead post-Lunatic Cultist - Benefits from generic damage multipliers as well as half each of magic and summon damage multipliers - Narrowed area of impact by 20% Mana Cloak: - Damage per star and area of impact is the same as Star Cloak - When damaged, spawns a star for every 40 mana the player is below max mana - numberOfStars = ((maxMana - currentMana) / 40) x1.5 if expert, x2 if master - Minimum number is 3 / 4.5 expert / 6 master - Non integer fractions are a chance to spawn an additional star (e.g. 4.5 is 4 stars and a 50% chance of 1 more) - A 30 mana star is dropped per 3 stars in a volley (max 5), but only in one volley each second New Prefixes - Thaumic accessory prefix: +30 max mana - Occult accessory prefix: +10 max mana Recipes - The recipe for Mana Crystal is set to 8 Fallen Stars - The recipe for converting 15 Greater Mana Potions to Super Mana Potions is set to 3 Fallen Stars, 1 Ectoplasm, and 1 Unicorn Horn.
