Against all odds, the mercenaries made it to the last rescue point and escaped Blazehatten just in time. For the first time since this whole mess began, things seemed to be going according to plan. That was until their driver, who had been bitten before their arrival without their knowledge, started showing symptoms. Naturally, the mercs started blasting. With nobody left behind the wheel, their ride came to an abrupt stop near an abandoned roadside service station, leaving them stranded once again. Their weapons hadn't made it through Blazehatten unscathed either. After all the shooting, bashing, and everything else they'd put them through, some were barely holding together. Luckily, the service station had enough tools and spare parts lying around to get them back into shape. A few repairs and a fresh coat of paint later, they were ready to keep moving, hoping a more competent driver would eventually get them out of this mess.
