To Understand Okay, here's some clarity. Rochelle will still look normal if you download this. The only difference is that when you're further away, the game will use less polygons for her - which is something the game already does with the L4D1 survivors - making this mod more focused on optimizing. The game didn't do this before, which is bad. This is a model mod. Other Rochelle mods that replace the model will conflict. Texture mods for Rochelle work fine. To summarize, Rochelle's been modded to have better LOD, (Level of Detail,) which means this will give you a better performance. For details: Rochelle didn't have many issues. Her weights were probably the best of all the L4D2 Survivors. I only had to make a few adjustments for incorrect weight percentage here and there, but it's so minor that it wouldn't be that noticeable. Just like Nick, Rochelle's regular LOD models never actually decreased the polygons. Rochelle has 17,130 tris, or polygons. The game also uses that for her shadow, basically doubling the poly-count to 34,260 tris! With this, not only does her model decrease poly-count the further away you are from her, her shadow uses a low-poly model of 2,864 tris. This means that even when you're using the highest model from her, she'll still only render 19,994 tris, which is a 14,266 difference of polygons being saved! LOD 0 - Highest poly-count model. (17,130) LOD 10 - Fingertip bones aren't used. This is the default model used when model settings are Low. Poly-count is the same as above. LOD 15 - Hair detail + others removed. Some fingers' bones are removed. Overall poly-count lowered ~20% (15,072) LOD 25 - Facials removed. Fingers removed. Overall poly-count lowered ~60% (6,261) LOD 40 & Shadow LOD - Hand bones aren't used. Earrings & bracelets removed. Overall poly-count lowered ~80 (2,864) Fun Fact! Before this mod, if you had all L4D2 Survivors rendered with their shadows, you'd get 125,328 polygons total. If you have this mod and the other Survivors, you'd get 74,958 polygons. That's a 50,370 difference just from the lower-poly shadows alone!

These are not my models/materials, all credit goes to the developer artists who made these beautiful art assets as well as the developers of the tools used to make this mod. Makes the cars more colourful. I was always dissatisfied with the dirty demeanor of the civilian cars and pickups you see on basically every map. So I just brightened their alpha channels a little. The result is that now every civilian car in regular rotation will have more saturated, defined colours while still retaining a slightly dirty look. BANG CHK-CHK!! Fixes using outdated Pump Shotgun sound events, making it use TLS Chrome Shotgun ones. I also noticed a red dot on the front sight on the original texture so I turned it into a glowing tritium sight. UPDATE!!! - Added materials: normal and exponent maps. The gun should look less flat and have some reflections. Granted, they are very sloppy and amateur but it's something at least. I also added Remington Model 870 Magnum initials. This is an old campaign project of mine that has been abandoned but is in a fully released state. If I recall correctly, the only issues should be loading screen formatting and maybe any AI movement for the final map. L4D2 is a walking simulator if you're good at the game with a good crew, so unless you're good at making maps things can get very boring. I am not good at making maps and am alone, so venture into this map if you're more interested in visuals than gameplay. Comments are disabled not because I wish to silence people, but because I wish to not work on the campaign any further. I am aware the campaign in its design needed lots of major changes to player engagement and general layout, so I understand the state it is being left in. Comments and discussions that were created still exist but are not visible. Regardless, thank you for your support, your time and your feedback. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are left to die at the edge of the coast. Surrounded by water pouring into the gulf with a hurricane on the horizon, move yourself inland towards the unknown. This addon is a water/weather heavy custom campaign with 5 segments and 1 survival map. You will be wading through water. No custom content is used. All content utilized is shipped with L4D2. No additional addons are needed. The campaign in full with all its required files are shipped in one VPK. Short trivia and history for the curious: - The title contains "Chapter 1" as I intended to release a "Chapter 2" later on that would be more engaging and fun than this campaign, while also utilizing my strengths in making an immersive environment. Chapter 2 would have closed off this very short story that I was building that took place adjacent to the L4D2 survivor's canonical story, with its own very interesting ending taking place in New Orleans. Of course, this won't be seen to fruition and sometime sooner or later I intend on actually releasing my final mod for L4D2 before moving on with my life. - This project file actually goes all the way back to 2016 I believe, and this started as a map I was building on my first computer. It was a 1.8 GHz integrated graphics laptop with 4 gigs of 1067 MHz RAM, all running from an extremely slow HDD. That largely contributed to why the map was unpolished, hard to work with, and not necessarily fun when taken seriously. It never had a plan beyond a few ideas; this campaign was actually built as I went. - The finale is actually a map file I originally created for Garry's Mod that didn't see the light of day. I regret that as the map file was actually in a 100% completed state and ready to be published, and it was larger and contained 3 other structures in a giant flatgrass with a similar lighting/environment. (And rain of course.) I cannot remember what happened, but I think I lost the map file before publishing to the death of my SSD or some kind of file mismanagement.

If this does not work either, I'll place it somewhere for others to get such as gamemaps.com as someone suggested. ______________________________________________________________________________ As noone has done this as of late, I might as well do it for those who like to play solo or those who like to just have the AI possess the name on their model made by ???. and for UMP-9.
