The Vanguard is a Tier 1 attack class submarine, that is easy to get the hang of for beginners. Sitting at a comfortable 7600 Mk starting price, this won't last long, as it is an early-bird sale so get it cheap while you can. The vessel houses a formidable arsenal consisting of one of each small caliber turrets. They are spaced strategically, which the soon-to-arrive Vanguard handbook will describe in details. Between outposts, legends are to be heard about a test crewman aboard the first prototype. Some of his diaries were recovered, but it is speculated that most of the logbooks are still aboard said prototype. If you are lucky enough to have bought that same submarine, you may find some hidden lore about the sub. Intended usage The Vanguard was made by Poseidon shipyards to support Dougongs explore the depts. The Duogong would go first, and signal the Vanguard, in case of any danger to their vessel. This submarine is also able to take down other submarines, but it may not be as effective against higher tier submarines. An interesting fact is, that the first handbook for this submarine encouraged the crew to ram enemies. This is because the bridge, and the aft sides are better protected than other parts of the hull. This may be effective against other submarines, but you shouldn't attempt this with anything like a Moloch Why was it abandoned by the Coalition? The Vanguard was taken over by Separatist forces. The cause is unknown, but possibilities include a raid on the crew, or backstabbing by the captain. After this sudden loss the separatists used this victory as propaganda way more than usual. This eventually lead for it to be almost an icon in the early days of the uprising. It was then forgotten for a few months, when suddenly the Coalition took back control of the ship. The test crew were not heard from again, and their status is unknown, but they are likely dead. Thanks for reading this description! I've put in way too many hours in building this ship. My description of the ship in-game: "The Emma is a feared ship that has seen many battles and has had several captains sail under her name. It's been battered, bruised and sunk, yet she lives. Repaired and restocked for battle, she now awaits a new captain to dive to the shadowy depths once more." Description could be worded better, I essentially made this ship for a campaign playthrough with my friends, we played as separatists fighting against the coalition, so I figured a pirate ascetic for the ship would be perfect. You might say it looks like an Orca, I borrowed a few designs from it, but this ship has been built from the ground up, it's not just some modified Orca 1 or 2. This is a tier 3 ship, has plenty of storage, a med bay, lab, armory, good amount of suits on each level. This ship served us well during our campaign and now you can enjoy it too.
