THIS IS MY FIRST MAP, BE KIND :) Description: Welcome to de_missery, my first-ever custom CS2 map. This small, gritty map is set in a somber, decaying version of El Cabanyal, a historic neighborhood in Valencia, Spain. Designed specifically for Wingman mode, de_missery offers tight, intense combat with open sightlines and strategic gaps that allow for AWP peeks and tactical utility use. As an amateur mapper, I focused on creating a compact but engaging experience, where both close-range combat and well-timed smokes or flashes play a key role in determining the outcome. The map’s dusty, weathered aesthetic captures the essence of urban decay, with narrow alleyways, broken walls, and scattered debris creating an oppressive, yet immersive atmosphere. Bombsite A is nestled in a dilapidated courtyard, surrounded by cracked tiles and abandoned structures, making it the perfect spot for both quick attacks and calculated defenses. The map’s design intentionally incorporates open gaps and sightlines, allowing for tactical plays such as AWP shots, smokes to block sightlines, and flashes to control space. This combination of close-quarters and strategic positioning creates a dynamic environment where every round can play out differently. Key Features: Optimized for Wingman Mode: A small, fast-paced map designed for 2v2 gameplay, with strategic chokepoints and tight sightlines that keep players on their toes. Open Gaps for Tactical Play: Thoughtfully placed gaps and sightlines allow for AWP peeks and provide opportunities for well-timed utility (smokes, flashes) to block vision and control key areas. Dusty, Decaying Aesthetic: A muted color palette and atmospheric lighting reflect a faded, neglected version of El Cabanyal, with weathered textures, cracked walls, and scattered debris adding to the immersive feel. Compact but Intense Layout: Despite its small size, the map encourages tactical depth, offering both fast action and opportunities for strategy with utility usage. As this is my first map, I welcome all feedback and suggestions to improve the design and gameplay experience. Your thoughts on balance, layout, and overall feel would be greatly appreciated.
