Kalashnikov Concern AK-12 (final production model, earlier designated AK-400) from Payday 2 The AK-12 itself was conceived as a rifle of the "future soldier"; its opponents were the A-545 (a descendant of the AEK-971 rifle with "balanced action") and the AK-200. The AK-12 prototypes went through several iterations, with the 2012-13 model being the most well-known (it appeared in numerous videogames, including some Call of Duty and Battlefield installments); it was fully-ambidextrous with a reversible charging handle and/or ejection port, thumb-operated selector, and bolt catch. Naturally, the rifle was too awesome to adopt, so some "flaws" were discovered, and the AK-400 (an AK-200 with some AK-12 features, such as burst mode) was declared a winner. This rifle has no reversible controls, no thumb-operated selector, and not even a bolt catch. It, however, got a two-round burst firing mode, presumably with a higher rate of fire of 1000 RPM, which "no assault rifle is capable of" (in your face, FAMAS). The rest of the taxpayers' money apparently went into upgrading the existing AK-74 rifles, further proving that this rifle is a piece of Picatinny-railed crud and not a "5th generation AK". Replaces the "Desert Combat Rifle" (model only) A modern Russian companion for Salad's Lebedev pistols. I started working on this a long time ago. Originally I wanted to release an ambitious pack, but the Payday 2 models and textures are tough to work with, so I'll take it slow. There weren't any AK-pattern SCAR replacements (except the Killing Floor 2 AK-12), and the "AK17" certainly has that "Desert Rifle" look.
