Akrop

Akrop is my first proper CS2 map, created as a Wingman map heavily inspired by the Greek island of Santorini. The map is built around the contrast between the bright white architecture of the island, narrow streets, and the ancient Akropolis sitting high above the town. I wanted to create a map that feels like a believable place rather than just a collection of gameplay areas. The goal was to combine the recognizable Santorini style with a layout that maybe works well for Wingman and still offers interesting fights, rotations and verticality. A big part of the map was also learning the entire process of making a level, from the initial blockout and gameplay layout to architecture, materials, lighting and detailing. There is still a lot I want to improve, but I'm very happy with how the project has developed and I'm excited to share it. A special thank you to FMPONE for allowing me to use assets and models from Thera. They were a huge help in bringing the Greek island atmosphere to the map and made it possible for me to focus more on the level design and creating my own environment around them. This is my first serious map project, so feedback is very welcome. I hope you enjoy playing Akrop.
