Q: Do I need Counter-Strike for this campaign to work? A: Nope! It's been built entirely on Valve content. Q: So what exactly does the footlocker in the finale actually do? A: Basically, it will spawn a single random item (inciendary or explosive ammo pack, a defib unit, a grenade launcher, a chainsaw or M60) that you can obtain by opening the locker. Q: Why is this campaign/first level so short? A: The original map that this was built off from isn't that big. I've pretty much covered all of the map in this, and aside from the finale, I don't want to add any major new sections to it to preserve authenticity. Q: Why are there no primary weapons in the first level? A: There are, in front of a dropped flashlight after going down some stairs. Q: Is the campaign supposed to be this easy? A: Yes and no. Due to the limited amount of gameplay area available, levels are rather short. "Terminator grade pipebombs, approved by Kyle Reese" This is something I've been wanting to do for a couple of year but never got around to. I think the original pipebomb, which was done for L4D1 was one of those weapon models that really needed a makeover. I never even knew if it was made of metal or PVC. Well, now it's definitely made of metal. :) For this mod, the pipebomb was remodeled completely from scratch, then textured in PBR and then tweaked for L4D2. The shape and pieces it's almost the same, but I added a few extra details and tried to improve it to the best of my capabilities. Thanks to Ellie this release also includes "Mod a Mod" support, meaning you can make a mod that changes the textures of this one! And in fact I already did one, that adds Ellie's RNG wizardry, allowing the model to spawn with different textures for the battery, tape, wires and trigger button. Check it out here! Fairfield Terror is a fan-made remake of Turtle Rock Studio's original No Mercy, the game studio that owned the rights for Left 4 Dead back in 2007/2008 before Valve took over the game. The original design of No Mercy featured a much darker atmosphere, had more detail, used brighter point lights, and in general, had a more realistic feel and environment, but most of the map layout stayed the same. This official port adds the new L4D2 weapons, melees, and items. The campaign also has full Versus and Survival support. We suggest setting your brightness to very low for maximum SP00K! NOTE: Due to being unable to upload the new update as a single VPK, this campaign has been split into two parts. Both parts are needed to play this campaign!
