[DISCONTINUED NO LONGER UPDATED] The Battle of Tali-Ihantala 1944

Tali-Ihantala 1944 Intended for constant PvP game, set in the Karelian Isthmus during the Continuation War between Finland and the Soviet Union in 1944. In June 1944, almost exactly 73 years ago, the Soviets launched a massive attack to break the Finnish defence on the Karelian Isthmus. One of the more well known battles was the Battle of Tali-Ihantala, and I am mainly depicting my vision of the battle in the town of Tali and the lake area surrounding it, such as Leitimojärvi. Despite the size and power of the Soviet assault, Finnish troops were once again able to barely stop it, even when outnumbered 3:1 (50 000 Fins vs. 150 000 Soviets) and the Soviets having more tanks and other weaponry. The weapons given by the Germans, like panzerfausts and tanks, helped greatly in the battle. As the Finnish were able to stop the massive assault in the area and denied the Soviets from getting any major breakthroughs, peace treaty was finally able to be negotiated. Casualties involved 1100 killed, 1100 missing and 6300 wounded (total 8500) on the Finnish side, 4500-5500 killed, 13 500-14 500 wounded and numerous tanks and planes destroyed on the Soviet side. The Continuation War was fought between Finland and the Soviet Union during 25th of June 1941-19th of September 1944, during WW II. The main goal for Finland was to reconquer the numerous lands (such as the Karelian Isthmus) they had lost during the previous Winter War (1939-1940), which were unfairly taken by the Soviet Union. Nazi Germany had initiated Operation Barbarossa a bit earlier, and decided to help Finland drive back the Soviets from their lands. Should be noted that Finland was not part of the Axis, it was simple as "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". The war ended in a peace treaty between Finland and the Soviet Union, which meant that Finland had to drive the German soldiers that had helped in the war out from their lands, give "back" areas like the Karelian Isthmus, Salla and Petsamo. Finland also had to lend Porkkala for the Soviets, pay money and end "facist" organisations such as Lotta Svärd. But in the end, Finland had once again managed to keep its hardly fought independence. I would recommend setting up a server with this map on it and play with some friends. So, it's basically an arena map, pretty much intended for player vs plauer action. You can play survival on it too, but I would recommend singleplayer only, since there is a lot of explosives which would make base building hard. Or you can just adventure around the map and see all the locations (not all marked) Notify me if you make a server with this map, I would gladly join and play. The weapons are not all historically accurate, I put some that really fit the theme such as MP40's and Luger's for Finns, Schofields and Calling Cards for Soviets, for example. You also have to download the WW II mod by Rain (Link to your right), since it contains the uniforms for the Finnish troops (Which are intended for Germans, but they look alot like the ones worn by Finns in the war). The Soviets have the vanilla Russian military gear (I know, I hate it too) because I couldn't find a proper mod for them. Lastly I would like to say thanks to all the Finnish troops that gave their lives but still managed to hold our independence at the face of a massive threat.
