[Insane Sized Map] The Driftless V2.1 [Overhaul]

Possibly the first Post- Russia Insane Sized map. The map features detailed towns (11 of em) and a HUGE lake (2.8 K across) Camps, Boats out at sea, ship wrecks, Farms, Centipede 80X Research Labs, Custom Clothes, Custom Ambience, Custom matierals, and TONS and TONS of secrets! Speical thanks to : Black Youtube for the Video (Hes a Korean channel) MeLikeBigBoom for the photo shopped Chart <3 Sketches for support and mapping advice. As stated above this is an insane sized map, which is exactly 4x as large as a large sized map, so basicly 4x the size of Russia, with equal amounts of detail. This map took me months to complete, and i would really enjoy to get amazing feedback (Or harmful feedback) about the map. Also, i saw that people were having issues running Russia, so i took great lengths in making sure almost any up to date PC can run this map with atleast 20 fps. [h1] Recommended Settings for Lower End PCs. [/h1] Now for Improvements: Optimized the map to improve performance, it should run decently on lower end PCs now. The suggested settings are: Bloom > Off Chromatic > Off Film Grain > Off Clouds > Off (Highly recommended, they annihilate performance) Terrain Transistion > On Height Fog > ON (the next couple are all optional) these next few matter the most to improving performance Anti-Aliasing > FXAA (TAA is fine too, but i dont suggest it) Grass Density > Medium (I didnt notice any difference bettween Medium and Ultra, other than FPS) Sun Shafts > High Lighting > High/Ultra Ambient Occ > Off (Suggested, but DO NOT put it up to High or Ultra) Water Quality > Medium / High (Ultra DESTROYS performance, seriously dont do it) Terrain Quality > Ultra The new trees: With new trees being supported on The Driftless, for low end users DO NOT USE THEM. Use the old tube trees and the map will run as smooth as butter for you guys! [b] DISCLAIMER: This map takes a LOOONNG time to load into the game, and yes, it SHOULD freeze your PC atleast 2 times while loading, don't worry its normal. It is an Unsupported map size and while i only ran into 1 major bug (Now fixed) i warn you to exit the game normally so incase the game crashes you don't lose anything. [/b] [h1] Recommended PC Specs : [/h1] When i mean 'Recommended' i mean that you can get 60+ FPS on high settings on this map. PC's far worse than the recommended can run it on medium settings just fine 4 GB or more of RAM GTX 600 or higher (I run a GT 730 and i run it fine, i just recommend something better) Atleast 70 MB of HDD space (Yes, Really.) A cpu speed of atleast 3.00 GHz [h1] *IMPORTANT SERVER DISCLAIMER* [/h1] The map is not supported by nelson, the reason he removed it was because it was known as the 'Sever destoryer' meaning servers have a rough time running the map due to it's size. I RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT HOST A LAN SERVER OR ANY OTHER FORM OF SERVER USING THIS MAP ON THE SAME PC YOU ARE USING TO PLAY ON, IT CRASHED MY PC 2 TIMES WHILE TESTING. An offical server is hosted by Lyhme, the IP can be found under the 'Servers' discussion. [h1] *CUSTOM CLOTHING* [/h1] This is the only Workshop content in the map and i WILL NOT ADD MORE. I created the map and the content, so ill stick to stuff made only by me and for this map. The cloth ids are: 2330 : Coast Guard Top 2331 : Coast Guard Bottom 2332 : Water Rescue Top 2333 : Water Rescue Bottom 2334 : Army Uniform Top 2335 : Army Uniform Bottom 2336 : Army Vest 2337 : Packers Jersey (Yes, an American Foot ball reference, im from Wisconsin so.. [h1] *IN REGUARDS TO ME 'STEALING' THIS MAP* [/h1] A known fact about this map's size is that it was removed from the game in early 3.0. Meaning, you could create and edit an 'insane' sized map way back then. I will release a Insane map template on the workshop in the coming days. So i guess i can FINALLY talk about the map itself: A land ravaged by glaciers for millions of years. A lake as large as a sea, with thousands of unique rivers, towns, and types of Sturgeon. Explore the heart of America as you travel across the States of Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota.
