Recipe Browser on Your Terraria Server

Recipe Browser turns crafting guesswork into a searchable interface: drop an item into the query slot and instantly see everything you can craft with it, including multi-step recipe chains across several crafting stations. That's a real time-saver on a rented multiplayer server, since every player can look up their own recipes instead of spamming the chat with questions. To work in multiplayer, the mod must be enabled server-side via enabled.json, with every connecting client running the identical version. Server load stays light, since most of the recipe logic runs client-side.

Tip: Pair Recipe Browser with Boss Checklist on the same server — both quality-of-life mods come from the same author team and complement each other well.

Plan the rollout and operation

Recipe Browser is especially helpful with several content mods. Check sample recipes from vanilla and every major expansion, search filters, crafting stations, and multiplayer synchronization. If a recipe is missing, confirm that the content mod loaded correctly before blaming the browser. The extension can serve as a convenience standard without changing resources, which makes it easy to assess in a world copy or short community trial.

Before enabling it, back up the world, characters, enabled.json, and mod configuration directory, and record the tModLoader, mod, and dependency versions. Start a world copy with the full list and connect at least two matching clients. Check the core feature, saving, restarting, reconnecting, and, for content mods, world generation or progression. Agree on server-wide settings and reload them after changes in ModConfigs. Update related libraries and content mods together, while adding independent packages one at a time. Before removal, store or discard mod-owned items, NPCs, tiles, and storage structures on a copy; missing content can otherwise damage a world or character. Move to a live maintenance window only after that copy loads without errors. Keep the previous package as a rollback until several sessions have completed successfully. Publish the active list for every player so clients and server do not start with different tModLoader profiles or stale dependencies.
