ClearType Terraria Crisp in-game text via FreeType — without the huge RAM cost of scanning every installed system font for previews. Developed with AI assistance (Cursor), curated and playtested manually. Fork of Cyrilly's Font Loader (MIT), reworked for clarity-first use. What it does - Redraws Terraria UI / combat / death text with FreeType rasterization. - Optional raster supersampling for even sharper glyphs. - Optional soft text shadow. - Y-offset sliders so baselines sit where you want them. Font faces Pick one face in config (only that face is loaded): - PingFang / PingFang Lite — bundled defaults from Font Loader. - Cabin — bundled OFL face. - Custom — place a .ttf or .otf in Documents/My Games/Terraria/tModLoader/ClearTypeTerraria/If several files are present, the first by filename is used. Config has an “Open custom font folder” button. No reload for most settings Changing font face, font scale, or raster supersampling and saving config applies immediately (FreeType collections are rebuilt on the main thread). To pick up a replaced Custom file, switch face away from Custom and back. Why not Workshop font resource packs? Those packs replace Terraria’s .xnb bitmap fonts. ClearType stays crisp by rasterizing real vector fonts (.ttf / .otf). Use Custom if you want a specific face from disk. Compatibility - Client-side mod. - Do not enable alongside Workshop Font Loader — they both hook the same text draw path. Known Issues Text can sit awkwardly depending on the used font.
