Waste is a KOTH map created by mapper Icarus in 2009. It is a KOTH conversion of the Payload map of the same name, famous for it's tug-of-war cart mechanic. If you want to check out the original Payload version of Waste it can be found here This map was featured in the "Big King Pack" which was a collection of then popular community-made KOTH maps. Sharing top billing with the likes of Lighthouse, Oilfield, Garbage Day, and none other than Harvest. (Months before Valve added it officially) Like Canalzone, it did have a brief career in the early days of Highlander around 2012/2013, and a video will be attached above so you can see gameplay in action. CREDITS - Icarus (Creator of pl_waste and koth_waste) I take no credit in any aspect of this map's creation. I am simply redistributing it.

UPDATE: March 21, 2026 - Added cubemaps. This actually fixed the water but added a lot of overly reflective surfaces especially the glass windows. UPDATE: March 20, 2026 - Renovated top floor. Inspired by the Trade_Plaza map, this is the very first map I made from the ground up. Watching youtube tutorials while using Hammer++ gave a ton of alt+tabs and the "leak" errors when compiling might have lead to some non stop head scratching, has lead to a total of 3 to 4 days(excluding sleep time) to make this map from start to finish. MAP LORE Patrick Roane is in trouble. It's only the summer of 1969 and his business with Blutarch Mann has gone sour. The two struck up a deal last fall to open a Quarry near an abandoned town in Colorado, from which Pat Roane believed he could source Australium. Nowadays he wishes he hadn't made that promise, because the quarry's rocks contain unrefined Australium, which made Blutarch order Blu's mercenaries to take it over by force. Now, with no other alternative, and money becoming a problem, Pat Roane calls to Red team for help. They set up in the old worker's quarters and their mission is simple - to take the quarry back. MAP INFO This map contains 12 player spawns on each side, making it perfect for a 24-player server. It has been developed and compiled from scratch by authors Sticky and BOGDAMAN with the purpose of reminiscing over older Arena maps of TF2. The map has two spawns, carefully brushed geometry, two sniper towers, and more for you to discover. This map does not contain custom content, so you needn't worry about errors while using it on a server. Stay tuned for our next project in the making, bigger and better - as this was our first Hammer map. UPDATE: THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Because of the bit of attention that Quarry has gotten, it has landed our dear map to the front page of Steam's workshop. BLU infiltrates a RED gravel refinery to take control of the many (not so) well hidden missiles they're hiding within the facility. 3rd map on the workshop comment any bugs or issues, I tried my best to go through the map a few times and played around with a friend + bots to check balancing but if any problems with one team being too powerful come up comment those too. (find all the cutouts)
