Fargo's Mutant Mod on Your Terraria Server

Fargo's Mutant Mod bundles a long list of quality-of-life upgrades: the Mutant NPC sells boss summons from nearly every mod you've got installed, plus infinite ammo and potions at a high enough stack, instant-build items for skybridges and hellevators, and powerful explosives for fast terraforming. Since version 3.3.5 it also includes a multiplayer spectate feature, handy when a player on your server dies but still wants to watch the fight. For the Mutant NPC to offer summons from other content mods, those mods need to be enabled in enabled.json too, running the same version across every client.

Tip: Enable Fargo's Mutant Mod alongside your content mods like Calamity or Thorium — the Mutant NPC will then automatically stock their boss summons.

Plan the rollout and operation

Fargo's Mutant Mod greatly accelerates acquisition and repeat boss fights. Decide which infinite items, instant structures, and explosives fit the run, and inspect merchant stock after every content-mod update. Test spectating with several players and large terraforming actions under load. Choose convenience features deliberately so they do not accidentally bypass challenges introduced by other mods.

Before enabling it, back up the world, characters, enabled.json, and mod configuration directory, and record the tModLoader, mod, and dependency versions. Start a world copy with the full list and connect at least two matching clients. Check the core feature, saving, restarting, reconnecting, and, for content mods, world generation or progression. Agree on server-wide settings and reload them after changes in ModConfigs. Update related libraries and content mods together, while adding independent packages one at a time. Before removal, store or discard mod-owned items, NPCs, tiles, and storage structures on a copy; missing content can otherwise damage a world or character. Move to a live maintenance window only after that copy loads without errors. Keep the previous package as a rollback until several sessions have completed successfully. Publish the active list for every player so clients and server do not start with different tModLoader profiles or stale dependencies.
