FlipTransport on Your DayZ Server

FlipTransport fixes a longstanding DayZ annoyance: vehicles stuck upside-down or rolled onto their side. With a simple wrench, players can flip their vehicle back onto its wheels, and a hydraulic jack plus traffic cone even allow flipping with no time penalty at all. Pushing vehicles in neutral with the engine off also works safely, even inside safezones or trader setups. After installation, configuration lives in your server's profiles folder, typically under configs/FlipTransport.v4.json, letting you fine-tune details like whether vehicles can be flipped in safezones or how much damage the wrench deals per use. Load the mod through your usual startup parameter. More than 3 million subscribers already rely on FlipTransport.

Tip: If you don't want the jack on your server, just leave it out of your types file.

Plan the rollout and operation

With FlipTransport, balance matters more than installation. Decide which tools are required, whether safezones are exempt, and how long an action takes. Test a vehicle on its side, upside down, and close to buildings, checking damage, inventory, and position after a restart. Limit the feature so it rescues stuck vehicles without bypassing walls, trader rules, or raid situations.

Before changes, back up the mission, profiles directory, and persistent storage, then record the Workshop ID, mod folder, and position in the -mod= parameter. Copy any supplied signature key into the server key directory and edit XML or JSON files only from a validated copy. After boot, review RPT, script, and admin logs, connect two clients, and test joining, the core feature, persistence, and reconnecting. Loot or types changes do not happen merely because the mod is loaded; merge them deliberately and verify the result in the world after restart. Schedule a maintenance window for updates, move server and clients to the same Workshop release, and keep the previous configuration ready for rollback. Remove a mod first on a test copy after stored items, vehicles, buildings, or profile entries have been handled. This prevents signature kicks, empty spawns, and unnecessary wipes.
