Meanwhile, the local Scorpion-7 captures alleged infected in an attempt to slow down the infection but this soon backfired them as a containment breach occured and the infection spreads in the east faster before the central US even fell. As the last ship leaves Boston, the city finally fell to the infection, leaving thousands of survivors back in the mainland. USS Houston was then ordered to barrage New York City but quickly fell to the infected from refugees seeking for shelter on the ship before they fired a single shot. Two weeks later after constant air drop aids by the Coalition, the only plane they have on the fleet crashed in Boston, turning it into a radioactive deadzone as it had heavily contaminated substances in it's cargo. UPDATE 1/6/19 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1617060147 First off: IF YOU DO NOT USE SPY'S AND OPT FOR VANILLA, YOU WILL SEE MINIMAL TO MODERATE PROBLEMS. You can totally go without it, but there will be some floating things n stuff. Also anomalies such as "Circus" will basically be empty areas where you get hurt. 1986, Ukraine, The Chernobyl NPP melts down, and creates the biggest nuclear power disaster in history. The area surrounding the disaster area, herefore referenced as "The Zone" is created after the immediate threat has gone. Mutations begin appearing in the local wildlife. The military takes interest in the area and begins investigating, sending scientists to take reports. In 2006, the C-Conciousness or Common Conciousness is created, and attempts to fix mankind's war issues. This fails and affects The Zone, creating mutants, anomalies and other events begin forming within The Zone. Artifacts are formed, which are normal items transformed by radiation and other elements, which contain supernatural effects such as weightlesnes, protection from elements, and of course emit radiation. The C-Conciousness also builds up massive amounts of energy, which it releases in bursts known as "Emissions" or "Blowouts." These affect the weather within The Zone and cause anyone caught outside of cover, such as a house, to be immediately heavily wounded, and lose their minds, creating zombies. Most Stalkers, after the first blowout, were wary of this and rarely did anyone lose their lives to these unless very far from cover. Unfortunately, in late 201X, a huge emission burst out. Not even those seeking shelter survived. The mutated creatures ran or died off, artifacts became increasingly rare, and nearly every Stalker except those in very deep shelter became zombified due to this emission. Stalkers now trust eachother even less, and zombified remains of previous Stalkers roam The Zone. This map takes place within "Zaton", a selection of inhabitted land within the zone, lying just a few miles South of the Chernobyl NPP. We're coming out of pre-pre-alpha and into Alpha. Beta will come when most of the map has been fleshed out - but as of now the current areas are very playable. Only one mod is required. Item spawns exist within a few areas, as well as stashes. Work will continue on this mod as I have time. I'll be adding new areas by the next update, and making sure to pay attention to end terrain finally. Areas fleshed out include the Waste Processing Plant, Ranger Station, the Zadovsk, the Bridge, the Dock, and some misc small areas inbetween.
