Better Thralls v2.3.4-legacy (Feature Complete)

Better Thralls adds quality-of-life features to the follower system: thralls and pets can be picked back up (only with an empty inventory, resetting their progress to level 0 with fresh random stats), the extra-follower cap goes from 3 up to 10, fall damage for thralls and pets is reduced, and the Warcry system (bound to T by default) lets you command every follower in range at once — similar to the whistle system in ARK. The new Lamplighter thrall automatically manages lighting around your base. Experimental options like Force Truncheon Following and thrall carrying are off by default. With nearly 500,000 subscribers, it's well-established, though the author now only updates it as needed for game patches. Add the mod ID to your modlist, and make sure every player subscribes to the same version.

Plan the rollout and operation

With Better Thralls, choose a clear cap for additional followers before opening the server. Extra companions change combat balance, travelling parties, and load around crowded bases. Test Warcry commands with several players and watch whether thralls follow, teleport, and return correctly after a restart. State the progress loss caused by picking a follower up in your server rules; that consequence matters more to players than the installation itself.

For a safe rollout, back up the world and server configuration, record the current modlist.txt including order, and start a copy on the exact same game version. Review the boot log for missing packages, then join with a client using the same Workshop list. A useful smoke test covers joining, spawning, one core mod feature, saving, restarting, and joining again. After major game updates, delay the live update until the mod and its dependencies are explicitly compatible. Change only one part of the list per test run; otherwise a crash cannot be traced to a specific entry. Before removal, use a world copy to check for stored items, buildings, thralls, or configuration owned by the mod. Remove its Workshop entry from production only after the save loads cleanly without those assets. This keeps rollback and diagnosis manageable.
