Barbarian Barber [v3.7.1] — new hairstyles for your server
Barbarian Barber adds 170 new hairstyles for female characters and 170 for male characters, plus several beard styles — a purely cosmetic mod with no balance impact, popular on roleplay and community servers. It doesn't need a specific load order on its own, but combining it with Akubas Salon or RA does require a particular order in your modlist.txt. The author also flags a known incompatibility: paired with Emberlight Vanity and Pippi Customise, the character editor can incorrectly render bald heads — it works fine with vanilla character creation or IQOL instead. With over 416,000 subscribers it's well-established, though it no longer receives new hairstyles, only maintenance patches. Add the mod ID to your server's list; every player needs to subscribe to the identical version via Steam Workshop.
Plan the rollout and operation
Barbarian Barber changes no stats, but it can visibly affect existing character looks and other customization mods. Before rollout, test character creation, later restyling, and several hairstyles on both male and female models. If Emberlight Vanity, Pippi Customise, IQOL, or salon mods are installed, test that exact combination. Tell players which customization interface to use so a rendering problem is not mistaken for lost character progress.
For a safe rollout, back up the world and server configuration, record the current modlist.txt including order, and start a copy on the exact same game version. Review the boot log for missing packages, then join with a client using the same Workshop list. A useful smoke test covers joining, spawning, one core mod feature, saving, restarting, and joining again. After major game updates, delay the live update until the mod and its dependencies are explicitly compatible. Change only one part of the list per test run; otherwise a crash cannot be traced to a specific entry. Before removal, use a world copy to check for stored items, buildings, thralls, or configuration owned by the mod. Remove its Workshop entry from production only after the save loads cleanly without those assets. This keeps rollback and diagnosis manageable.
