PREREQUISITES For this mod to function correctly, you must adjust a few specific Sandbox Options. You can find these settings under `Advanced Zombie Options` (if editing in-game) or under the `ZombieConfig` section (if editing your server's SandboxVars file). 1. Enable Zombie Respawn The mod relies on zombies existing in the world. Make sure respawning is turned on by setting the following values to greater than zero. Default Values here are pretty good enough. Respawn Hours = 72 Respawn Unseen Hours = 16 2. Adjust Population Multipliers To ensure the horde events feel appropriately challenging and intense, I highly recommend tweaking your population levels. Default values here are also pretty good: Population Multiplier = 2.0 Population Start Multiplier = 1.0 Population Peak Multiplier = 1.5 3. Increase Sound Follow Distance Zombies need to be allowed to travel long distances when they hear any in-game events' sounds. Follow Sound Distance = 450 Note: If you set the "Horde Distance" in the mod options higher than 300, you must increase this sandbox value to match it using formula: Follow Sound Distance = Horde Distance * 1.42 HOW IT WORKS * No Artificial Spawns: This mod does not spawn new zombies out of thin air. It only attracts the undead that are already roaming nearby in your world. * Sandbox Scaling: Because it uses the existing local population, the difficulty and size of these waves are directly tied to your game's default Zombie Config in the Sandbox options. Play with high population multipliers, and you'll face massive, overwhelming hordes. Play on lower populations, and the rushes will be more manageable. The event cycles through three phases: * The 'Cooldown' Phase - The time between events. Gameplay is normal and zombies will behave as usual. * The 'Calm' Phase - The period in which mass zombie migration occurs. Towns and cities will seem deserted and eerily quiet. This gives players the opportunity to scavenge and build defenses before the inevitable horde arrives. * The 'Storm' Phase - Zombies return in massive hordes and persistently hunt down the player(s). It will take some time... quite some time for the horde to actually march toward your location, providing a window to prepare your defenses. The event begins with smaller waves of stragglers and escalates into larger groups as the main horde arrives.
