This mod changes that. Computer Mod adds usable computers with their own operating system. You can install an OS, set passwords, browse websites, download and install games, read magazines and newspapers, watch video files, use apps, burn CDs, store files, and communicate with other players. Features Playable Games There are currently 24 playable games. Some computers may already have games installed, while others may have none. Games can be installed in two ways: - Game CDs: Find a game CD, insert it into a computer, and install it through My Files. - Internet downloads: Open the browser, visit knoxshare.bbs, download a game, then install it from the Downloads folder. Downloads take time. You do not need to stay next to the computer while downloading, but shutting the computer down will cancel the download. Playing games reduces boredom, stress, and sadness. Losing a game slightly increases stress. Applications A fresh OS includes My Files, Notepad, Browser, Paint, Calculator, Mail, Board, Chat, Market, Settings, and Music Player. Folder, File and CD System Computers now have a more functional file system. You can create folders, rename them, delete them, move files, restore files from Trash, and organize your desktop. Folders can contain notes, paint files, magazines, newspapers, video files, and other readable or downloadable files. Blank CDs can be found in the world. CDs can be opened from My Files, renamed, wiped, used to store files, or used to burn installed games. Removed CDs keep their name and stored content. Applications cannot be copied into folders or CDs, but files can. Magazines, Newspapers and Videos Computers found in the world may contain recipe magazines, newspapers, or video files. Reading or watching them takes time and can affect your character. Recipe magazines can teach the same things as their physical versions. Some hidden websites also allow you to download magazines or videos. Hidden site addresses may be found naturally inside notes or emails. Passwords, BIOS and OS Installation Some computers may be password protected. There are three ways to access them: - Know the password. - Reset the disk from BIOS. - Use a Password Hack CD. To hack a password, insert a Password Hack CD and start the hacking process from the login screen. Complete the mini-game to remove the password. By default, hacking requires Electrical level 1. Warning: Resetting the disk deletes the operating system and local data. If a computer has no OS, it cannot boot normally. Find a PZ OS 3.1 CD, insert it, enter BIOS during boot, and install the operating system from the CD. Internet Outage System Internet access can be affected by world power. If the power grid goes down, the internet backbone can go offline depending on sandbox settings. To restore the network, players must find special relay terminals around the map and repair them with Electrical skill and electronic parts. If relay power is required, the active relay must keep receiving electricity, such as from a generator. If that generator runs out of fuel, the network can go offline again. This system can be adjusted or disabled in sandbox options. Terminal Locations Customization You can change the computer name, profile picture, password, desktop background color, date format, clock format, and file layout. Desktop icons and folders can be moved on a grid. Translations The mod includes translation files for: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, Hungarian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, Finnish, Korean, Thai, Traditional Chinese, and Ukrainian. WHERE ARE MY GOT-DANGED CIGARETTES, MARGARET?! In 1993, Kentucky had the highest percentage of smokers in the United States, according to a study by the CDC. 30% of Kentuckians smoked an average of 19 cigarettes per day. So where the HECK are all those cigarettes? This mod places cigarette packs, cartons, lighters/matches, and other tobacco products in: - Zombie pockets - Houses - Garages - Grocery stores - Corner markets - Convenience stores - Gas stations - Bars - Restaurants - Workplace break rooms - Vehicle gloveboxes - Bags, packs, purses Rejoice, ye smokers. Kids' backpacks, bedrooms, and school lockers do NOT get cigarettes, even though there was also a high rate of teenagers smoking in '93 Kentucky. Don't smoke, kids. Spawn rates reflect that 30% number, with sandbox options to increase or decrease the spawn rate. AFAIK this mod is completely safe to add mid-save. IMPORTANT NOTE: WAMC only affects containers in map chunks that have not yet been loaded by a player. The cigarettes are added when the container is first generated. So you'll have to travel to new areas to find all those sweet, sweet smokes. What do the abundance settings actually mean? These are averages across many rolls. A used pack contains 1-20 cigarettes. Store packs are full, sealed packs. 🗺️ Minidoracat MiniMap - MOD Maps for B42 By Minidoracat ✨ What is this A map pack addon for the Minidoracat MiniMap for B42 main MOD: it ships mini-map images (rendered from actual in-game visuals) and area outline data for several map MODs. - Auto-detected: a map's image only shows when that map MOD is enabled — nothing is drawn for maps you don't have - Area outlines + name labels (multi-language) to quickly locate MOD maps on the mini-map and world map - Extra options that appear only with this pack installed: MOD map tiles toggle, outline toggle, outline color (green by default) - Street name translation (new in 0.7.0): road names on 15 maps in Traditional Chinese / Simplified Chinese / Japanese, searchable in both the translated name and the original English 🗺️ Included maps & requests Currently supports 77 map MODs (100 maps) — subscribe them all at once via the supported maps collection. The full list, credits to the original authors, and map requests all live in the Discussions — come make a wish! You can also request a new map via the GitHub issue form (goes straight into the dev backlog — fastest turnaround). 🛣️ Street name translation (new in 0.7.0) Road names on 15 maps now come in Traditional Chinese / Simplified Chinese / Japanese (355 entries), matching vanilla wording, searchable by either the translated or the original English name. Requires main MOD 0.21.0+. Other maps simply never shipped street data (e.g. Raccoon City) — not a missing translation. ⚠️ A few maps show two names on one road That comes from those map MODs, not from this pack. The convention is that each map only defines its own roads, but some authors copied or renamed vanilla street data into their own MOD, and the engine draws both copies. This pack already drops the duplicates (the SecretZ outposts are pure vanilla copies → no street translation; Muldraugh 1993 keeps only its own 52 entries; Daisy County and a few others lose a handful). What's left is short junction overlaps — removing those means editing vanilla street data and would break vehicle routing, so it stays.
