Jumbo Stumps Done Right Gives the stumps left behind by felled jumbo trees (XL / XXL, added in Build 42.20) a use. Sit on them, craft on them, dig them up and carry them, or turn them into planks and firewood. Features - Sit — choose "Rest" under "Stump" in the right-click menu. Pressing the Interact key (E by default) next to a stump also sits you down. Recovery works the same as on any other chair or furniture - Use as a work surface — crafting that needs a surface (Chop Log Into Firewood, for example) can be done next to a stump. You can also place items on top of it - Stick an axe into it — the axe you are holding (8 types, including the Wood Axe and Hatchet) can be stuck into the stump from the "Stump" menu. It is a place to keep the axe and nothing more. You can pick it up again at any time, and digging up the stump returns it as well - Dig up — "Dig up" in the "Stump" menu turns the stump into the item "Stump (dug up)". A stump that held up a jumbo tree is heavy (XL 30 kg / XXL 40 kg). Requires Agriculture 1 and a tool. The Garden Hoe and the Pickaxe work at normal speed; the Wooden Spade, Spade, Shovel and Garden Fork take 1.5 times as long. The Wooden Spade can be made with Carving, so no metal tool is needed - Place and move — a dug-up stump is placed like vanilla furniture with "Place" and moved with furniture moving. No tool is required. A placed stump shows "Stump (dug up)" as its right-click heading, and sitting, the work surface and sticking an axe all keep working - Saw into planks — with a saw, an XL stump yields 10 Planks and an XXL stump 13 (matching vanilla's 1 Log = 3 Planks ratio). Right-click a stump in your inventory, or use "Saw into planks" in the "Stump" menu to saw a placed stump where it stands - Chop into firewood — with an axe, an XL stump yields 20 Firewood and 3 Wood Splinters, an XXL stump 27 Firewood and 4 Wood Splinters. A stump in your inventory needs a work surface nearby (the same condition as vanilla Chop Log Into Firewood). Use "Chop into firewood" in the "Stump" menu to split a placed stump where it stands The vanilla "Remove Stump" option is not shown for jumbo stumps. "Dig up" is the only way to remove them. Compatibility - Build 42.20 or later (the version that added jumbo trees) - Can be added to an existing save. Stumps that are already in the world are covered as well - If the mod is removed, only "Stump (dug up)" items you are carrying are lost. Placed stumps remain as ordinary stumps and can be removed with the vanilla "Remove Stump". Stuck axes stay where they are and can be picked up - No vanilla items, recipes or tiles are overwritten. Stump properties are added at startup - Multiplayer is supported. Digging up and sawing / chopping are handled on the server and show up on other players' screens - Tested in singleplayer (Mac / Windows) and in multiplayer (host mode, 2 players). Dedicated servers are untested - Languages: English / Japanese (item names, menu entries and recipe names). Translations are welcome - No settings Known limitations - Stumps have no collision (same as vanilla, you can walk through them) - The output column of "Saw Stump" and "Chop Stump Into Firewood" in the crafting window shows the XL amounts (10 Planks, 20 Firewood).
