Emberlight 3.6.7 for immersive roleplay

Emberlight is built for roleplayers and makes items feel tangible: food and drinks appear visibly in serving dishes, mugs, and tankards, a bindable bed enables cohabitation, bookshelves display journals and scrolls, and custom thralls carrying Emberlight gear spawn throughout the Exiled Lands. It also brings real quality-of-life upgrades — bigger crafting-station storage, barrels as extra storage, and the Chroma system for painting buildings in custom colors and themes. With over 460,000 subscribers, it's an established roleplay mod. Because it touches deep item and base-game systems, keep it updated promptly after every patch — an outdated version can cause load errors on boot. Add the mod ID to your server's list; players subscribe to the matching version via Steam Workshop.

Plan the rollout and operation

Emberlight is best suited to long-running role-play worlds where players furnish bases and build stories. Decide which extra containers, workstations, and Chroma elements affect your building or raiding rules. In a test base, place one painted building piece, one storage object, and one thrall interaction, then reload the save after a restart. This checks persistence and rendering before the community builds entire settlements around mod-dependent objects.

For a safe rollout, back up the world and server configuration, record the current modlist.txt including order, and start a copy on the exact same game version. Review the boot log for missing packages, then join with a client using the same Workshop list. A useful smoke test covers joining, spawning, one core mod feature, saving, restarting, and joining again. After major game updates, delay the live update until the mod and its dependencies are explicitly compatible. Change only one part of the list per test run; otherwise a crash cannot be traced to a specific entry. Before removal, use a world copy to check for stored items, buildings, thralls, or configuration owned by the mod. Remove its Workshop entry from production only after the save loads cleanly without those assets. This keeps rollback and diagnosis manageable.
