Scale Limits
by 76561197987951774
Lets the interface size and the zoom go down to 50 percent instead of stopping at 100. Nothing new to learn: both are the settings the game already has, in Settings > Interface. They simply offer smaller steps than before, and the choice now survives a restart. It also fixes the blurry text that appeared under 100 percent. The game feeds its sharpening shader a strength taken from the interface size, and below 100 that strength goes negative, which turns the sharpen into a blur. At exactly 50 percent it was discarding the pixel being drawn entirely. The strength is now held at zero instead, so small sizes are simply unsharpened. Useful on a high resolution screen, where the game already enlarges everything on its own and it all ends up bigger than you want. Client side only, so nobody else needs it.
Let there be Light!
by 76561198167092251
WORKS ON NECESSE v1.3.3 And the Player said: 'Let there be Light!' The Book of Necessians 1:1-5 1. In the beginning the world was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep caverns. 2. And the spirit of the Player moved upon the dark terrain, bearing a wooden stick dipped in pitiful resin. 3. And the Player looked upon the vanilla torch, and behold, it cast light of merely two cubits, and darkness remained upon the land. 4. And the Player ventured forth into the gloom, stepped unawares upon a concealed pressure plate, and was smitten unto death by spike traps and cave horrors. 5. And the Player wept bitterly, lifted eyes unto the heavens, and cried: 'Let there be Light!' — and there was Light: two-fold in brilliance, casting away the shadow realm, and behold, it was very good. Let there be Light! is a gameplay and lighting overhaul for Necesse that finally fulfills the divine commandment of true illumination. Banish birthday-candle torches, pitch-black death traps, and stick-littered bases forever. Why You Need This Mod - Stop Squinting in Dark Caves: Better Torches cast light twice as far as vanilla torches, helping you spot ores, chests, traps, and lurking monsters long before they reach you. - Save Inventory Space & Wood: Because brighter fixtures cover wider areas, you use 50% fewer torches. This means fewer wood-chopping trips and more open inventory slots for dungeon loot. - Craft and Uncraft Anywhere: Upgrade 4 vanilla torches into 1 Better Torch directly in your handcrafting menu while exploring underground. If you ever need regular torches back, you can uncraft them on the fly with zero material loss. - No More 'Stick Graveyard' Bases: Replace messy ground torch spam with elegant Steel Lamp Posts, 4-way Wooden Hanging Lanterns, and majestic Phoenix Lamps. - Conquer Flooded Caves & Deep Oceans: Normal torches cannot be placed in water, and vanilla water lanterns are barely visible. The Abyssal Crystal Lantern floats on water with realistic wave bobbing and illuminates deep flooded trenches. - Wire Automation for Modern Towns: Connect lights to daylight sensors or switches to automatically turn off your settlement's lighting during the day or when settlers go to sleep. - Sprint & Ride Without Torch Clumping: If you use the AutoTorch mod, this mod dynamically projects placement ahead of your movement vector, so sprinting or riding mounts never causes torch lag or clumped placements. New Lighting Fixtures - Better Torch (300 Light Level — 2x Vanilla) Mountable on ground and walls. Hand-craftable anywhere on the fly (4x Torch -> 1x Better Torch) and uncraftable back to vanilla torches. Perfect for mining tunnels and deep dungeon exploration. - Steel Lamp Post (350 Light Level) Heavy industrial metal street lamp with dynamic spark particles and wide coverage. Perfect for town pathways, plazas, castle courtyards, and perimeter security. - Wooden Hanging Lantern (350 Light Level) Cozy rustic lantern supporting 4-way mounting (left walls, right walls, back walls, or ceilings). Perfect for taverns, log cabins, mine shafts, and indoor ceiling lighting. - Phoenix Lamp Post (550 Light Level) An ornate golden beacon forged from iron and gold bars at the anvil, radiating a massive warm solar glow. Perfect for town centers, grand monuments, and boss arenas. - Abyssal Crystal Lantern (450 Light Level — 3x Water Lantern) Supercharged tier-2 aquatic lantern with floating wave physics and bioluminescent aquatic particles. Mountable on land or floating in water. Perfect for ocean exploration, flooded cave caverns, and fishing docks. Smart AutoTorch Integration If you have the AutoTorch mod installed, this mod seamlessly upgrades its placement behavior: - Lookahead Travel Placement: Predicts your movement direction (including diagonal sprinting) and places torches ahead in the dark instead of trailing behind you. - Dynamic Spacing: When holding Better Torches or Phoenix Lamps, torches are automatically placed 12 to 16 tiles apart instead of 3 tiles, saving your inventory. - Surrounding Light Awareness: Senses existing fixtures up to 20 tiles away and avoids dropping duplicate torches into already-lit hallways. - Water & Land Smart Switching: In ANY_LIGHT mode, it automatically places floating Abyssal Lanterns over water and solid torches on land. - Anti-Clumping Protection: Eliminates torch pile-ups against walls when dashing or riding fast mounts while the lighting engine computes. Crafting Recipes - Better Torch: 4x Torch (Handcrafting / Workstation) - Vanilla Torch (Uncraft): 1x Better Torch -> 4x Torch (Handcrafting / Workstation) - Steel Lamp Post: 1x Iron Bar + 1x Torch (Iron Anvil) - Wooden Hanging Lantern: 1x Any Log + 1x Torch (Carpenter Bench) - Phoenix Lamp Post: 1x Iron Bar + 1x Gold Bar + 3x Torch (Iron Anvil) - Abyssal Crystal Lantern (Upgrade): 1x Water Lantern + 1x Quartz + 1x Any Gem (Workstation) - Abyssal Crystal Lantern (Direct): 1x Torch + 1x Any Log + 1x Quartz (Carpenter Bench) Configuration & Customization Everything is customizable in settings/lighting/settings.cfg: - Adjust brightness of any fixture - Customize color warmth, hue, and saturation. - Choose recipe difficulty (EASY, MEDIUM, HARD). - Full multiplayer synchronization: Server settings automatically push to connecting clients. Unfocused Sound Fix
by 76561197987951774
Stops the framerate collapse that happens after leaving the game in the background for a while. With mute on focus loss enabled, the game skips advancing sound fade timers while the window is inactive. Looping sounds then never report themselves as finished, so they pile up in the playing sound list, and the mixer walks that whole list every single frame. Coming back to the game does not undo it. This keeps the fade timers moving while muted, so those sounds retire on schedule. Mute on focus loss keeps working exactly as before. Client side only.
Recreation Activity Recovery Boost
by 76561198863359245
Recreation changes: recreation threshold lowered from 40% to 25%, exhaustion decay rate doubled, exhaustion efficiency floor raised from 5% to 50%, and recreation activity recovery increased by 50%. Spoiler: NPCs will only start recreation when recreation level drops below the threshold. Exhaustion system: Each recreation activity increases exhaustion for that activity type, which decays very slowly over time. Decay rate is affected by Quality of Life level. The higher the exhaustion, the more recreation gain is reduced, up to a maximum reduction of 95% (down to 5% efficiency). Note: This is just a temporary patch made in spare time to fix the NPC exhaustion death loop where they completely refuse to work. It will cause NPCs to spend less time on each recreation activity. For unknown reasons, many players still experience the exhaustion death loop on NPCs with extremely high Quality of Life, even though theoretically it shouldn't happen.

Destructible Only Caves
by 76561198045441848
Prohibits placing most objects in caves. You cannot easily avoid enemies by walling them off anymore, and must think more carefully about what you destroy. Torches, minecarts, ground tiles, and a few miscellaneous objects can still be placed.

HardCore Lite

tldr: Deletes your whole inventory on death (including inventory slots, hotbar, equipped items and void pouch) Did you ever feel like the game lacks a consequence for death? Is dropping your inventory to the ground just so you can pick it up again as if nothing happened not enough? Did you play hardcore but find yourself not motivated enough to do long and proper base building just to die 5 minutes later by accident and lose your whole base again when the world and your char deletes? Then you are like me! Thats why i made this mod. I wanted to have a challenge and have death be meaningful but i also want to build huge bases with lots of settlers but hardcore is straight up too punishing for that (at least for me). I tried asking the devs about something like this like 2 years ago but so far nothing happened so i doubt it will. So i just took matters into my own hands and (quickly) made this. What is does is bridge the gap between too easy (non hardcore) modes and hardcore mode. If you set your game death penalty on world creation to hardcore then nothing changes. this mod does absolute nothing in that scenario. If you pick any of the others (nothing, drop materials, drop inventory and the other one i forgot...) then, when you inevitably die, the following will happen: - your whole inventory gets deleted. all slots. - your hotbar items get deleted. - your equipped items (so armor, trinkets and even cosmetics) get deleted - your void pouch gets voided (pun intended). even when you didnt have it with you when you died (but who doesnt care his void pouch though?) This mod makes combat meaningful again. each death hurts. hard. but you still get rewarded for building a base to keep spare parts and full separate loadouts. Trying a new boss you dont know yet? maybe dont bring your A gear. Just going farming a bit? maybe bring a bodyguard just in case. Lost your tier 10 gear in an incursion but didnt have a backup? back to square one you go. For multiplayer you should need the mod on the server AND the clients. but i have not tested if it works (though i wouldnt know why it shouldnt) If you like my mods and want to support me, check out https://ko-fi.com/thealmightylootius
