Old-School Crafting

Feeling as though items are too easily obtained in modern Terraria? What if some craftable items didn't have their original recipes stripped away to their bare bones? Missing the era of Terraria where you had to work hard for your items? This mod reverts numerous crafting recipes to their older, circa 2011-2013 counterparts, and adjusts several more recent items' recipes in the same spirit, in an attempt to restore the amount of effort originally required to obtain them, while minimizing game balance implications. Most notable changes include the re-introduction of biome key molds (!), many Jungle items once again requiring their Silver counterparts, as well as Molten Armor requiring Gold Armor, and naturally some Hallowed items requiring all hardmode ore tiers! Upcoming Additions if I have the time and will: * Config Options for adding additional materials to Biome Key crafting recipes, as well as increases to reforge cost. * Potentially some drop rate adjustments (e.g., lucky coin) * Basic Ore Armor/Tools material cost reversion (e.g., pickaxes take 12 bars instead of 10 again) What's currently affected (crafting recipes faithfully adjusted to a pre 1.2 version): - Jungle Armor, Thorn Chakram, Blade of Grass, Ivy Whip - Molten Armor, Molten Tools, Flamarang, Phoenix Blaster, etc. - Bars (e.g., Chlorophyte Ore once again takes 6 ore per bar instead of 5). - Meteorite Armor, Tools, and the Space Gun (Phaseblades and Phasesabers not yet affected). - Hallowed Armor, Pickaxe Axe, Drax, Excalibur, Gunginir, Flamethrower, Hallowed Repeater, etc. - Rainbow Rod, Magical Harp, Fairy Bell, Neptune's Shell. - Dao of Pow, Crystal Storm, Cursed Flames, Golden Shower. - Mechanical Boss Summoners. - Biome Keys (now crafted from Biome Key Molds like in 1.2!) Most affected content has been adjusted to their 1.0 or 1.1 recipes, but some unique exceptions were in order: - Imp Staff: 17 Hellstone Bars -> 30 (using the Fiery Greatsword in 1.1 to 1.2 as a baseline). - Hallowed Hood: Any Cobalt/Palladium, Mythril/Orichalcum, and Adamantite/Titanium helmets can be used. - Ancient Hallowed Armor follows the same style as Hallowed Armor did in 1.1 (though still craftable at a demon altar). - Flamethrower: Has a second recipe using 35 Ichor, for parity with Crimson worlds. - Light Disc: Requires 20 Cobalt/Palladium and 20 Mythril/Orichalcum instead of Hallowed Bars. - Hallowed Jousting Lance: 12 Hallowed Bars -> Jousting Lance, 12 Hallowed Bars, 20 Souls of Might. - Durendal: 12 Hallowed Bars -> 12 Hallowed Bars, 20 Souls of Fright. - Terrablade: Now requires 3 Broken Hero Swords instead of 1. - A Desert Key Mold for parity with the others (which uses temporary art as of writing). - Meteor Staff now requires an additional 10 Pixie Dust and 5 Souls of Light, in line with the price of other equivalently tiered craftable weapons. - Chik now requires an additional 10 Crystal Shards and 5 Souls of Light. - Onyx Blaster now requires an additional 15 Souls of Night. - Cool Whip now requires 4 additional Souls of Light and Night. - Avenger Emblem, in addition to being reverted back to it's 1.2 recipe, now also requires the Summoner Emblem and 5 of each mechanical boss soul. - Neptune's Shell no longer drops from Creature from the Deep (as it's now crafted again). If you find a recipe that is not faithful to its original counterpart from either a 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, etc., version and think it should be corrected, feel free to point it out and I will address it. Suggestions for adjusting the crafting requirements for newer items (post 1.3) in this older style of crafting is also welcome! Note: All Legacy (Pre 1.2) recipes that required a specific type of bar (e.g., Magical Harp using Gold Bars) should work with either ore counterpart. Developed By Discipile
