Combined Status on Your Don't Starve Together Server
Combined Status turns the game's HUD into a compact info center, surfacing body temperature, season, and moon phase at a glance, complete with warnings just before you freeze or overheat. It merges several older classics — Always On Status, Season Clock, and Better Moon — into a single, actively maintained codebase with deep configuration options, from temperature units (in-game, Celsius, Fahrenheit) to optional temperature badges. With more than 10 million downloads, it's one of the most-used DST mods around.
Since it's a purely client-side mod, you don't need to enable anything on your rented server — every player installs it individually through the Steam Workshop, regardless of which server they join.
Tip: Because Combined Status runs entirely client-side, it has zero impact on server performance or compatibility with other server mods.
Plan the rollout and operation
Combined Status is a recommendation for individual players, not a requirement for the world. Publish a short client profile with sensible defaults while leaving temperature units and badges optional. Check the display in winter, summer, and caves and alongside other HUD mods. Because the server remains unchanged, an affected player can disable the mod temporarily for diagnosis without interrupting the shared session.
For rollout, a clean client profile on the matching DST version is enough. Back up personal settings, enable only this mod, and connect to the existing world. Check the interface, hotkeys, cave travel, reconnecting, and combinations with other client mods. Because the server does not require the feature, a player should still be able to join without it. Publish the Workshop ID as a recommendation rather than a hidden requirement. After a DST update, test from a fresh profile first; stale interface files or saved options are easier to isolate locally than inside a large collection. If problems appear, the affected player can disable the mod and add other convenience extensions back one at a time. Pure client functionality does not require a world rollback or changes to cluster.ini.
