Convert image files into pixel art made from in-game tiles! (You can place the converted pixel art directly in your world!) This mod reads an image file and converts it into pixel art using the tiles currently loaded in your game (such as blocks and walls). It also supports tiles added by content expansion mods like Calamity. Button Guide Update Color Palette Scans all currently loaded tiles (blocks, walls, etc.) and generates a file called ColorPalette.csv containing their color data. This includes tiles added by expansion mods such as Calamity. Open Image Folder Opens the folder where you should place the image files you want to convert. Load Image Loads all image files (png / jpg / jpeg / gif) inside the image folder into the list. Edit Image Opens the image editor panel for the currently selected file in the list. The editor panel operates independently from the main panel and can be dragged freely anywhere on screen. Editor panel features: - Before / After preview — View the original and edited image side by side. - Reduce Colors — Reduces the number of colors in the image down to a specified limit. Enable "Preserve Accent" to prioritize keeping vivid colors. - Resize — Resize the image to a specified width and height between 1 and 100 pixels. - Save — Overwrites the original file with the edited result and closes the panel. - Cancel — Discards all changes and closes the panel. Place Toggles placement mode on/off. While in placement mode, click anywhere in the world to place the pixel art at that position. Snap (Align) A 3x3 grid button that cycles through 9 anchor points (top-left, center, bottom-right, etc.), determining how the pixel art is aligned relative to your cursor when placing. How to Use - 1. Set the key for opening the menu in the game's control settings. (Default is the P key) - 2. (First-time use only) Press "Update Color Palette" to generate ColorPalette.csv. - 3. Press "Open Image Folder" and place your image file into that folder. For performance reasons, image size is limited to 100x100 pixels. - 4. Click "Load Image" to refresh the image list. - 5. (Optional) Click "Edit Image" to open the editor. Reducing colors or resizing the image beforehand can improve conversion quality. - 6. Click "Dotify" on the corresponding row to start converting that image. Please wait until the process is complete! - 7. Press "Place" to enable placement mode, then click where you want to place the pixel art. Use the Snap button to change the placement anchor point. Notes - There may still be bugs. If you find one, please let me know (nicely)! - The UI is not very polished yet. - Multiplayer is NOT supported. It might work, but it is completely untested. - Although the limit is 100px, even 50px can feel very large when placed in-game. - Images with fewer colors tend to produce cleaner results. To reduce colors before converting, use the built-in "Edit Image" → "Reduce Colors" feature. The intended use of this mod is to aid developers in creating animations using keyframes. Use Cheats to get the Item 'AnimatorWrench' to access the UI. To use this mod effectively, use the mod calls "RegisterElement" and/or "RegisterControl" to register your element (filter) and the controls (fields/variables). The given element will now be available for selection in the UI. When your element is selected it will show all the registered controls in the grid. Use the additional arguments of the "RegisterControl" mod call to specify the value, range, step size, format and conversion types. Use the mod call "AnimationValue" with the appropriate element and control names to pass the value of your field/variable into Animation Studio. - In read mode: Animation Studio will read the given value and save it internally. It returns the unmodified value. - In Write mode: Animation Studio will ignore the given value and return its internal value instead. When the incorrect filter is selected it will not read/write anything; it will return the given value. Some fun facts: This mod was made to make animations for my work in progress 'Stars Above' addon mod.
