Starter Gifts Made using: Terraria - v1.4.4.9 | tModLoader - v2026.7.3.0 This is a mod made with the simple goal of speeding up the early game of both vanilla and modded. Everyone knows that feeling of wanting to start a new playthrough, but then they remember the initial early grind. Looking at you Hermes Boots The other problem I had with a lot of other similar mods is they took it to the extreme. And completely broke the early game. That defeats the purpose. There are other mods out there that serve the exact same purpose as this mod, most notably for me Starter Bags by Right Hand Man. (Direct inspiration for a lot of my item choices.) This mod was a perfect balance for me with the items not being completely OP. However, there were a couple items broken within that mod and I had some other items and tweaks I thought would improve it. Meat & Potatoes What it do though? This mod will give you a gift the first time you spawn in a world. The gifts contents and amounts is based on what you select in the config. To clarify, it is predetermined what is in each gift, you don't have granular control over the specific items, only what type of gift you get. It should in theory be smart enough to not crash or give you a modded gift if you dont have that mod installed. Regardless if you have a modded gift selected. It should also be smart enough to not crash whenever another mod im interacting with changes their codebase and removes/moves an item. Looking at you Orchard the failsafe implemented should simply not give an item when it cant find said item. The config is simple, it's either yes or no to the gift. By default all gifts are disabled. Also, there is a tooltip in game saying what each gift contains.
