Weapon Condition Indicator [41.60+]
This mod overlays a durability icon or progress bar on any weapon carried on the hotbar, belt, or holster, blinking as condition drops and posting an on-screen alert if a weapon gets knocked from your hands. It also surfaces ammo count and battery charge with hover tooltips for detailed item info — genuinely useful on populated multiplayer servers. It requires Mod Options as a dependency and at least Build 41.60; multiplayer is explicitly supported. One caveat for hosting: it overrides ISHotbar.lua and ISEquippedItem.lua, so expect conflicts with other UI mods touching the same files. Add Workshop ID 2619072426 and Mod ID TheStar alongside modoptions to your WorkshopItems=/Mods= lines.
Tip: If clients report a "Workshop item version is different than the server's" error after an update, restart the server to resync versions.
Plan the rollout and operation
Weapon Condition Indicator is valuable with many weapons but shares core UI files with other hotbar mods. Test primary and secondary hands, belt, holster, ammunition, and dropped weapons with the full interface stack. If indicators disappear, reduce UI mods incrementally. Place the required Mod Options dependency ahead of it in both server lists so clients do not discover an incomplete chain only when joining.
Before changes, back up the save, sandbox configuration, and server INI, and record the Workshop ID, mod ID, game branch, and order. Both lists must contain the same projects in dependency order; a Workshop download alone does not enable the mod. Start a world copy, connect at least two clients, and test the core feature, persistence, death or reconnecting, and a full restart. Review console.txt and the server log for missing files or Lua errors. After Workshop updates, update dependencies together and retain the last working combination. Before removal, clean up additional items, vehicles, clothing, or slots on a copy. When moving between Build 41 and 42, verify every mod individually; a similar name is not proof of compatibility. This protects the live save from incomplete downloads and branch conflicts.
