Checked on September 8, 2026. The latest verified official CS2 patch is from August 24, 2026. Valve expands map scripting with custom_hud_layout and camera features. For community servers, this mainly affects custom maps and extensions; it does not announce a blanket tickrate change.
Verified Status
The August 19 patch updated Boulder and Poseidon and fixed movement along walls. CounterStrikeSharp 1.0.374 has also been available since September 7; after the server update, check the framework and plugins together. A MatchZy package may include an older framework version.
On August 12, Valve updated Fachwerk and Shelter; on August 3, gameplay, Cache, and map scripting fixes followed. Season 5 added Cache to the Active Duty pool and removed Overpass. At the same time, the range and spread of C4 explosion damage on official defusal maps were reworked. The official notes mention no switch to 128 tick and no blanket performance gain. Earlier claims like that therefore do not belong in the server status.
Which Version Should You Use?
Keep the client and dedicated server on the same current Valve build. Do not blindly apply Workshop or plugin changes: check map rotation, GSLT, console, and each add-on separately. Season 5 changes the official competitive pool, but not automatically your own rotation.
Safe Update Process
- Back up
server.cfg, match configurations, plugin directories, and the current map rotation. - Stop running matches cleanly, update the dedicated server, and restart it.
- Check the build, GSLT login, and startup log; then load an official map and every Workshop map you use.
- Test joining, map changes, C4 rules, and plugins with a real client before players return.

FAQ
Is CS2 Now 128 Tick?
The official patch notes do not make this claim. CS2 uses sub-tick; do not plan or evaluate server performance based on an unsupported 128-tick promise.
Do I Have to Remove Overpass from My Rotation?
Only if you want to mirror the current official Active Duty pool. Private and community rotations remain your decision.
Is a Successful Server Start Enough After the Update?
No. Test at least login, joining, map changes, and the plugins you use, because a process can still start with faulty content or add-on configuration.
