Take to the skies with your own Rescue Helicopter! The Rescue Helicopter Mount provides full directional flight and a working rescue cable capable of airlifting players, town NPCs, critters, and normal enemies. Use it for rescue missions, transporting NPCs, catching enemies, or simply flying around Terraria in style. FLIGHT CONTROLS Left and Right: Fly horizontally Up or Jump: Rise Down: Descend RESCUE HOOK G: Deploy or retract the rescue hook Down + G: Release the hook and anything being carried The hook swings naturally beneath the helicopter and automatically grabs valid targets it touches. One target can be carried at a time. Town NPCs, critters, and normal enemies can be lifted. Bosses and oversized enemies are too heavy for the rescue hook. About This Mod The main purpose of this mod is to simplify how you track which weapon or item is currently active in your hotbar. Whenever you switch slots, the active item will briefly show above your head for a moment—giving you a clear idea of what you are holding—and then smoothly fade away. Think of this as a highly lightweight, performance-friendly alternative to features found in mods like WeaponOut. Why I Made This I created this mod out of necessity! My potato PC lags whenever I try to use heavier visual equipment mods. I needed an optimized, performance-friendly utility that tells me exactly what I'm holding without tanking my frame rate. To keep the mod as smooth as humanly possible, the pop-up visual indicator only triggers when cycling your hotbar. It will not aggressively trigger or clutter your screen while you are managing items inside your main inventory screens. Future Updates I plan to update this mod to introduce cleaner animations and visuals. Because this mod focuses heavily on utility and performance, any future visual additions will be added to an in-game configuration menu. The source contains server-authoritative proximity routing, authenticated UDP transport, and lifecycle code; client microphone capture and speaker playback are not wired in this release, so do not expect audible voice yet. AI DISCLAIMER This mod was designed and framed by me, a human being. However, it was programmed by an AI agent (a legion of them, in fact). If you're not chill with that, then this mod isn't for you. Thank you for your time. Features - Server-owned proximity routing based on active state, death state, and player position. Teams do not change who can hear whom. - Dedicated UDP voice relay separated from reliable tModLoader control packets. - Authenticated, session- and generation-bound packets with replay, size, and rate rejection. Timestamp-age rejection is not enabled in the current relay path. - Managed Opus, voice-activity, and bounded jitter components are present in the source, but client capture/playback integration is not yet connected. - A compact voice panel/HUD and configuration labels are present for integration work; audio-device and per-player audio controls are not yet operational. - Immediate cleanup on death, disconnect, world unload, respawn, and mod unload. Dead players never have a voice channel. - Dedicated-server-safe audio boundary: servers route voice without requiring microphone or playback hardware. Requirements - Terraria 1.4.4 with the Steam version of tModLoader stable v2026.05.3.0. - The same Terrar Prox Chat version enabled on the server and every client. - A microphone and operating-system microphone permission for players who speak. - A reachable UDP voice port. The default is 28672; Terraria's normal server port does not open this port. Install and configure - Subscribe to this Workshop item and enable Terrar Prox Chat in tModLoader. - Enable the same mod version on the dedicated server and all clients. - Allow the configured UDP voice port through the server firewall and forward it through NAT when required. - Use the server voice configuration for UDP port, range, moderation, and acoustic settings. The default maximum range is 2000 tiles and the default full-volume radius is 128 tiles. - Client configuration contains microphone, device, push-to-talk, voice activation, mute, deafen, and diagnostics settings for the pending client audio integration. Controls Press V to open the voice panel and inspect the current integration state. Audible push-to-talk/voice activation is not available until client capture and playback are wired. Privacy and security No audio is recorded to disk by the current source. The server decides proximity recipients, and device names are not sent through the control or voice planes. Voice packets are HMAC-authenticated and bound to the current session and player generation; the relay can inspect encoded voice frames, so this is not end-to-end encryption. Death and disconnect revoke voice state and flush delayed lifecycle resources. Known limitations The current public build is not feature-complete: client capture/playback is not wired, timestamp-age rejection is disabled in the relay path, and the managed codec may be slower than native libopus. Native client audio backends depend on the operating system and available runtime libraries; dedicated servers use a null audio boundary. Real microphone, permission, NAT, and multiplayer behavior must be tested after the missing client audio integration is completed. No native audio binaries are redistributed in this mod. Support and testing Use the project's source repository and issue tracker for bug reports when a stable project URL is available.
