Dried Meat – A Survival-Friendly Preservation Mod This mod introduces a new way to preserve meat in Project Zomboid (Build 41), allowing survivors to find or dry meats for long-term storage. Designed for vanilla-friendly gameplay, this mod enhances late-game survival by providing an alternative source of preserved protein without relying on freezers or livestock. Why this mod? After spending countless hours in Project Zomboid, I developed an interest in modding. Thanks to W Patrick and his tutorial, I was able to create this mod, which served as my introduction to the process. Building on that foundation, I took the initiative to expand and refine the mod further, adding new features of my own. Features Dried Meat for Long-Term Storage – Dried raw meat to prevent spoilage, making it last much longer. Rehydrate for Cooking – Add water to dried meat to restore it for use in recipes. Dehydrate for Long-Term Storage – Preserve meat by using a generous amount of salt to dry it effectively. Custom Icons for Meat – Unique assets for dried meats, making them stand out in the world. Recipes Added Open Dried Meat Can – Obtain Dried Steak, Dried Chicken, Dried Pork Chop, or Dried Mutton Chop. Rehydrate Dried Meat – Restore Dried Steak, Dried Chicken, Dried Pork Chop, Dried Mutton Chop, Dried Rabbit Meat, Dried Frog Meat, Dried Small Animal Meat, and Dried Small Bird Meat with water. Dehydrate Fresh Meat – Preserve Steak, Chicken, Pork Chop, Mutton Chop, Rabbit Meat, Frog Meat, Small Animal Meat, and Small Bird Meat with salt.
