Is Palworld 1.0 already active on my server?
Yes. Palworld 1.0 was released on July 10, 2026 and ends Early Access. It is a free update for everyone who already owns Palworld. Your game-serverhosting server pulls the new version automatically on the next restart; no manual action is required.
Will my save game be preserved?
Yes, completely. Bases, Pals, breeding lines, and game progress carry over to 1.0 unchanged. If your server updates automatically on restart, the transition is a normal restart, not a migration. Still, the basic rule applies: make a backup before every major update.
What is new in Palworld 1.0?
The highlights at a glance:
- Two new regions: the floating archipelago Sunreach and the World Tree as the finale of the main story; the map roughly doubles in size.
- 72 new Pals (47 completely new + 25 variants) → 287 Pals in total.
- Awakening: In a new mystical area, you will find Radiant Gems that let you awaken your Pals' hidden potential: new abilities and higher stats.
- Mutation: Breeding can now produce mutated eggs, with higher stats and unique passive skills.
What changes for your dedicated server
1.0 brings several server-side additions:
- Voice chat server-side, off by default; can be enabled in the World Settings Wizard (not on WinGDK builds).
- Guild roles with finely adjustable permissions per role.
- New PvP mode with adjusted default settings.
- Optimized server performance for higher player counts.
Server clustering: not usable yet
Before launch, ARK-style server clustering was discussed as a 1.0 highlight. In practice, it is not usable yet: the official changelog does not mention it, and there is no supported configuration path. The basics are present in the server binary (cluster fields), but one server still hosts exactly one world. As soon as Pocketpair provides an official config method, we will add it to this guide.
Does 1.0 work immediately for all platforms?
Yes; crossplay remains unchanged: Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, PS5, and Mac continue playing on the same server. Just make sure that the server and all clients are on 1.0; mismatched versions are the most common cause of failed connections.
Summary
Palworld 1.0 is a free update, your save game stays intact, and your game-serverhosting server updates itself on restart. New regions (Sunreach, World Tree), 72 new Pals, plus Awakening and Mutation await in the game; server-side, voice chat, guild roles, and a PvP mode are added. Server clustering is not playable yet.
