How many players can join an Enshrouded server?
Enshrouded supports up to 16 players simultaneously. For full 16-player sessions we recommend 16 GB RAM. Smaller groups of up to 4 players run well on 8 GB RAM.
Are save games automatically backed up?
Yes, the game server saves automatically at configurable intervals. You can also create manual backups or configure a backup schedule in the dashboard.
Are mods supported on an Enshrouded server?
Enshrouded dedicated servers currently support client-side mods via Nexus Mods. Server-side mods are still in development by Keen Games. Our recommended mods are a great starting point.
What is the Shroud mechanic and how does it affect multiplayer?
The Shroud (Flammgift) is a toxic fog covering large parts of the game world. On a server, all players can venture deeper into the Shroud together — more players equals more strength against the growing threat. Each player has their own Shroud timer limit.
Can I upload an existing Enshrouded world to the server?
Yes, you can upload your local save folder via the dashboard and continue playing on the dedicated server. The upload is done via the file manager in the dashboard.
What is the difference between a dedicated server and host-via-Steam?
Host-via-Steam only runs while you are online. A dedicated server runs 24/7 — your friends can play anytime even when you are offline, with better stability and performance.
Do I get my own subdomain?
Yes. Every server includes a subdomain like my-server.game-serverhosting.com, and you can change it anytime in the dashboard.
What are the free extras?
Every server can enable free add-ons such as Uptime Kuma, Sinusbot, Game Server Watcher, and more with one click in the dashboard.
How quickly is my server online?
Typical initial setup: about 10 minutes. Queues or large installations can take longer.
Is there a minimum contract term?
There is no long-term minimum. Billing is a monthly subscription and automatic renewal can be disabled. Longer terms may qualify for discounts.
Are the servers located in Germany?
Yes. All game servers run in German data centres (Falkenstein and Limburg) connected to the major German exchanges — low pings for players across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and solid latency for the rest of Europe.
Which provider is best for my server?

Should I host the server myself or rent one?
